Purpose (Scope of Ministry): To ensure safe and courteous travel for our members and others that may ride on our buses.
The Transportation Committee ensures safe and reliable travel for church members and guests, providing a crucial service for church events, outreach, and activities. With an emphasis on safety and courtesy, this ministry helps maintain the church's fleet of vehicles and ensures that each trip is conducted with care and excellence, reflecting Christ’s love through service.
Committee members, including the chairperson, must have a good standing in the church and a clean driving record. The chairperson is also required to hold a CDL license, ensuring the vehicles meet commercial vehicle regulations and remain in safe, operable condition. In addition to coordinating vehicle maintenance and cleanliness, this team manages vehicle registration, insurance, and log book entries, as well as assists with driver training and certification.
With a focus on routine inspections, repairs, and safety, the Transportation Committee makes sure the church’s buses are ready and available for use, from local shuttles to mission trips. They also help organize and train a team of bus drivers to meet the needs of the church’s transportation efforts.
