Serve on the Finance Committee to ensure the church’s resources are used wisely in advancing the Gospel. By helping create and monitor the budget, providing financial guidance, and supporting the church’s financial health, you contribute to the ongoing mission of making disciples and stewarding God's gifts for His glory.
Purpose (Scope of Ministry): To provide ongoing financial monitoring, support and guidance to the church and the Treasurer through regular reporting of financials and the annual creation of the church budget
The Finance Committee plays a vital role in overseeing the financial health and stewardship of the church. This ministry is responsible for monitoring finances, guiding budget creation, and ensuring funds are used wisely to support the church’s mission.
Key responsibilities include compiling and recommending the annual church budget, reviewing monthly financial statements, and assessing financial impacts of committee recommendations or major purchases. The committee ensures that all financial decisions align with the church’s mission and principles of good stewardship. They also assist the Treasurer with bi-monthly financial reporting and serve as a resource for any church-related financial inquiries.
The committee works closely with Pastoral leadership to provide guidance on significant financial projects, conducting thorough cost analyses to assess their impact on the budget.

The Finance Committee has a limited number of spots available each year. New members are prioritized who have been active in the church body for some time, who can bring experience in financial issues, who are known to be wise decision-makers, and who can represent needs and perspectives from various ministries and demographics of the church. Because of their trusted ministry in the church, Finance Committee members are carefully selected by the Nominating Committee and Pastors.
